Take Back the Reins

This is an initiative from Sport England and the British Equestrian Federation to encourage more adults to get back into riding horses, or to start to ride horses, and form social groups with like minded people, all enjoying the activity together on a weekly basis.

Shardeloes has been chosen to run these courses in Buckinghamshire. We hope that we can encourage more people to get out, away from the housework, television, computers etc. and take up an equestrian sport by learning to ride or taking up the reins again and enjoying a sport you had great pleasure from in the past.

"Take Back the Reins" is a series of riding lessons providing individual and group coaching that has been designed to support your first steps in order to get back into the saddle. The lessons will help you develop your skills so that you can enjoy the fresh air and the countryside and improve your fitness and progress within the sport, but most importantly making sure you have fun along the way.

Don't worry too much if you haven’t got all the kit, jodhpurs are optional. A comfortable pair of trousers will suffice. A hat will be loaned free of charge and if you do not possess a pair of short boots with a very small heel, an old pair of wellies will do.

You will start by having a practice session on our riding simulator for 10-20 minutes and then mount a real horse for a 30 minute lesson with plenty of time for questions and discussions with your instructor about what you hope to achieve.

To book call us on 01494 433333, the total cost is £275.
