Hacking and Cross-Country
Shardeloes Farm is renowned for offering 550 acres of some of the Chilterns’ best off-road hacking. We love exploring the British countryside and regularly see awe-inspiring wildlife, flora and fauna, including rare species on occasion.
We are nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and have a BHS-approved cross-country course to ensure your hacking experience is always safe and fun!
Our cross-country course is built from 30cm all the way up to pre-novice standard, 4.5 miles in length and includes 39 jumps of varying degrees of difficulty.
Speciality fences include a water jump, ditches and steps – all perfect for learning, training or improving!
Accompanied Hacking is becoming increasingly popular amongst our riding school clients, and we will happily book you in for a session, subject to assessment on our mechanical horse, Tigger.
Our instructors can also teach you on your own horse or pony, or, if you prefer to go it alone, you can hire the course for £25.00 per horse. To participate in private or group escorted hacks, you must be able to walk, trot and canter and have complete control of the horse in wide open spaces.
We also hold year-round monthly cross-country clinics, for clients on their own horses. Advance booking is necessary, please visit our Facebook and Instagram pages for further information and dates.
