The Equestrian Centre at Shardeloes Farm is an established family-run business founded by horse enthusiasts Tony and Linda Williams in 1990. When their eldest daughter, Cindy, was involved in a road accident with her pony, the couple was keen to get away from hacking over roads. As luck would have it, the farm came up for sale, which was all off-road hacking and their dream came true.
Tony, a former World Champion Powerboat racer and entrepreneur, applied his experience and skills, turning his hand to farming and developing the site. Meanwhile, Linda, a keen horse-lover from the age of four, combined her knowledge and passion to develop the livery yard – its first guest was their own horse, called ‘Starlight’. Cindy went on to produce young horses and develop her eventing career. She kept all her horses fit even before her two-star event, just by going around the farm! She continues to drive back to the farm from her home in the Cotswolds to hold regular cross-country clinics.
Today, Shardeloes Farm continues to offer the perfect setting and state-of-the-art facilities for riders of every level looking to develop their skills and experience. In addition to a safe and fun learning experience, our selection of well-schooled horses and ponies are ready to help you navigate your riding journey, whatever your destination.

Our Equestrian Centre is the beating heart of Shardeloes Farm. We’ve been welcoming riders of every level and discipline since the 1990s, helping each and every one to realise their unique goals and ambitions. We’re proud to have evolved over the years to become one of the best riding schools in the Chilterns. For us, it’s testament to our commitment to providing expert tutoring, friendly, well-trained horses and top-class facilities, all delivered within 550 acres of spectacular countryside.

Our opening times are Tuesday to Friday 8.00am until 8.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8.00am until 5.00pm.
